Dear Nail Diary,
I've been a subscriber to Birchbox for 4 months now. This month I received a free sample of Lola Barcelona nail polish. It's an orangey coral colour called Rambla. It's not a colour I would have picked for myself, but it looks rather nice - very Summery. My mom also subscribes and she received a dark pink called Gracia. Again not a shade either of us would have chosen.
The swatch is two coats over a base coat with a top coat of Seche Vite. The brush is just the right size and thickness to make application as easy as possible. I disagree however, that it can coat a whole nail in go - as I only achieved this on my little finger and I don't have monster huge nails. It glided on like a breeze and coverage remained consistent from nail to nail. My only negative, which can hardly be counted, was that it dinged a little too easily, even after an application of SV, but I think this was because I was in a rush and didn't allow it to dry properly. The photo was taken a day after I painted them - with me being my usual "careful" self, so I would say it also has great staying power as well. It's supposed to have diamond dust in it to increase it's longevity - which is great if you like to wait a while before you have to paint your nails again. I get bored easily though, so this will probably be gone by the time the weekend is out! ;)
It also has no nasties in it, which is always good to hear.
In conclusion, I'm not sure if Lola Barcelona will become a permanant addition to my collection of nail polish brands as none of the shades have made me giddy with that "must-have" vibe. However, I would recommend them.
=:x
You can buy Rambla and Gracia (along with three other shades) at Birchbox for £7.50 each.
