Dear Nail Diary,
Well "it's just another Mani Monday..." and today I have a design I did on my Mom's nails instead of mine - mine are rather busy with jewellery making at the moment. I've been inspired by my doctors surgery again, or rather my mom was. I was showing her the floor that inspired me a couple of weeks back, while we were getting our flu jabs (stupid asthma!) and she noticed the privacy curtain and thought the design would make a cool nail art pattern.
I started with two coats of Essie's "She's Picture Perfect" over the base coats. I then applied a coat of Seche Vite to speed up the drying process. Once they were solid I took BM plate 011 and alternated the stampings of Barry M - White and China Glaze - Lotus Begin at random lengths on each nail.
I then stamped on top of the White with Crabtree & Evelyn's "Eggplant" and over the Lotus Begin with Barry M's "Bright Purple" - again in random lengths, but making sure to overlap part of the colour underneath. Another coat of SV and you're done.
I really love this look, even if my hand did slip on one of the stampings! You could achieve the same look with dotting, but I was feeling lazy and I hadn't done any stamping for a while.
I know I only usually do a post a week if I can manage it, but there will be a Halloween post - hopefully a double one as my mom will be wanting hers done too.
=:x
