I'm sorry this is later than I intended to post, but last week was rather traumatic. It's still Tuesday though - just about, so here's the next tutorial that I promised from the Inspirations Mani.
Inspiration 2 - Doctor's Floor
As I said, I tend to stare at the floor a lot whenever I'm at the doctor's. I think it's part of my social anxiety and agoraphobia. Anyway, the last few times I've been to see the nurse, I've noticed they have this really bright yellow marble-like vinyl floor.
- Base Coat
- Dark, Bright, Pastel Yellow Nail Polishes
- Orange Nail Polish
- Cling Film - Cut into squares and balled up
- Acetone/Nail Polish Remover
- Angled/Makeup Brush
- Top Coat
Step 1:
Apply your base coat and then paint two coats of your darkest yellow polish. I've used Nails Inc - Carnaby Street. You can apply a quick dry top coat if you can't be bothered waiting for it to dry on it's own.
Step 2:
Once sufficiently dry, apply a thick coat of your orange polish - I've used Nails Inc - Porchester Place.
Step 3:
Dab gently with your balled up cling film. Make sure plenty of the first polish is showing through. This should give you a marbled effect.
Step 4:
Repeat steps 2 and 3 with your pastel (NYX - Pastel Yellow) and then bright (Nails Inc - Belsize Park) yellow polish. There's no need to wait for coats to dry, as long as you're gentle, this should only add to the marble effect. Don't worry about any mess you might have made (see above!) as you can
easily take care of this afterwards.
I added another coat of Carnaby Street, as I found it wasn't as bright as I wanted it.
Step 5:
Apply your topcoat.
Using your angled or makeup brush, dip it in acetone or nail polish remover and
clean up around your nail bed and anywhere else you might have stray
polish - if you're me, usually all down your fingers! ;)
Result should look something like this:
